Thinking With Paulo Freire: What Humanises Our Work?
The Brazilian educator and activist Paulo Freire challenged traditional models of authority and showed how humanising relationships are built through dialogue, shared questioning, and mutual respect. This webinar replay explores his critique of dehumanisation, his relational approach to change, and his influence on wider thinking, all with a focus on how these ideas can strengthen care and social work practice.

The Benefits of a Philosophical Approach to Learning and Wellbeing
Between Autumn 2024 and Spring 2025, two cohorts of Barnardo's staff embarked on a pilot study of a new approach to social care learning and development. Far from being abstract, philosophy here means creating space to think, question assumptions, explore dilemmas, and find meaning in the pressures of daily work. This webinar, chaired by Dame Lorna May Boreland-Kelly, brings you the story and the findings of the Barnardo's pilot study.
